my name is John - PE4IR.
I started the hobby a long time ago. The first device was an AM handheld cb-radio. I used this device to chat with a friend, but the whole building could hear us also :-)
I have been on the FM-radio as a DJ.
I started with DX-ing on 11mtr SSB and became a HAM operator in the 90's.

At the moment I'm often using FT4 or FT8 mode. Equipment I'm using for FT4 or FT8;
Radio: Kenwood TS480
Antenna: Bushcom loop 40
Software: MSHV
Work
I have been all over the world for my work. Like the British Marines say:
"Per Mare Per Terram".
Some of the countries were;
Afghanistan, Mali, Ukraine, Korea and many more.
The last one was with the Queen Elizabeth carrier strike group 2021.
Always active as SWL station.
